After a short hiatus, I have finally returned to the side of reason and decency with the purchase of my brand new Apple MacBook. For those of you who aren’t aware, someone took the opportunity one night and broke into my old house, walking away with my old MacBook, a Playstation 3, and other random electronics. While pissed I was, the point still stood that I had no laptop, no OS X, and no means to say “hey, i am cooler than you when it comes to computers.”

While my old MacBook was by no means outdated (I had purchased it in September), the opportunity did allow me to slightly upgrade some features based on the new technology being implemented in the same model. The end result, well nothing, yet. Everything is essentially the same with my new MacBook as with my old one, except the that I did make the decision to purchase an Apple Mighty Mouse to accompany my MacBook (I may be an OS switcher, but I am by no means a one-clicker) since the thieves did walk away with the mouse I had plugged in to the old macbook.

On a plus, I did receive an Apple Red 4GB iPod Nano for free (well, free after the rebates and minus the taxes). Since I received a truely free 30GB Video iPod in February for the lease I signed on my new apartment, I decided to be charitable and sell it for half price to my sister (who lost her Nano that she received for xmas, hopefully she will learn about value when she loses items that shes paying for out of pocket), which in turn is helping me feel the pinch a little less from purchasing the MacBook.

Now if I can get someone to purchase my netgear NAS off of me, I can buy a new network hard drive that is not windows dependent, and I can maximize the networking potential that I’ve been seeking.
