Part of my job is managing our account with Sprint-Nextel, and last month I ran across a startling discovery that one of my users text messaged 5,996 messages.  That’s insane for any person to do, let alone on an i850 and not a device like the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition.  Needless to say, I ran some statistical analysis on that month’s text messaging, and that user accounted for 45% of the text messages used by my entire organization (If I had more detailed information, I would have attempted to calculate how many of those text messages went to other users inside the organization).

So after upgrading his text message plan (it wasn’t on unlimited) I began to wonder how you could text message so much in a single month.  I believe my highest text message total was less than 400.  So to try to determine this, I have begun training myself to text message more than call in preparation for the next billing cycle, where I will see what it takes to use 6,000 text messages.

Joe! 6000 messages is insane! I just text messages for lots of stuff from Twitter to Facebook, not to mention all the messages I send to actual friends. The most I have ever used in a month is 2000! I can’t imagine how you could use that many. And Treos are great for text messages too!
