So I’m a huge science fiction fan, in fact I can clearly blame my parents for it. I remember when I was little watching Patrick Stewart become a borg on Star Trek, and that was the original airing, not a re-run. Tuesday, Stargate SG1’s final season came out on DVD, and I decided I wanted to pick it up, as I find myself becoming a box-set fiend, picking up DVD seasons and box sets when possible. While I’ve seen the episodes before, it’s nice to sit down during a slow weekend and watch episode after episode while I program or clean.

Anyways, as I was picking up the dvd box set from Best Buy, there was a sticker on the plastic wrapping that indicated that the trailer for the upcoming direct-to-dvd movie “Stargate SG1: The Ark of Truth” was included. So like a anxious fanboy I opened up the set when I got home and started looking through the dvds for the special feature, but to my surprise it was no where to be found. Infact after doing some research on the internet I found that the trailer was infact a clipshow from the 9th and 10th seasons put together at the beginning of disc 1, and contained no actual footage from the movie.

After a short hiatus, I have finally returned to the side of reason and decency with the purchase of my brand new Apple MacBook. For those of you who aren’t aware, someone took the opportunity one night and broke into my old house, walking away with my old MacBook, a Playstation 3, and other random electronics. While pissed I was, the point still stood that I had no laptop, no OS X, and no means to say “hey, i am cooler than you when it comes to computers.” » Read the rest of the entry..

Leave it to my roommate to come up with this, but he being a recent college graduate of Western Michigan University decided to list his entire college debt for sale on ebay. For those of you who don’t know my roommate (we’ll go by his initials PR), the man spent 6 years in a Van Wilder fashion at WMU accumulating credits over 4 different majors.

Update: Friday morning PR will be interviewed on the local television station WWMT regarding the auction. Hopefully they will post the video in a reasonable amount of time and I can put it up on here.

The local news station WWMT recently aired a story about students at Western Michigan University (which I attend/work at) who were disciplined over actions that were recorded and uploaded to the popular video website, YouTube. Unfortunately for these students, WMU ran across the video and they are now being disciplined. While this situation hits closer to home than other stories in my perspective, one of my instructors said it best today that we need to watch our E-image. » Read the rest of the entry..

As you may or may not know, MC  Chris (known for his role as MC Pee Pants on Aqua Teen Hunger Force) is one of my favorite artists, and in this YouTube video, he compares playing Kingdom Hearts to Resident Evil 4.  If you call yourself an avid gamer, this video will give you a good laugh.

This is a spoof of both United 93 and 300 which won a 2007 MTV Movie Award for best Movie Spoof.  I enjoyed the movie a lot, so I figured I would share it with you.

Ocean's Thirteen

George Clooney leads an all star lineup for the third installment of the ocean’s trilogy, appropriately dubbed Oceans Thirteen. In the movie, Danny Ocean (Clooney) rounds up the boys for a third heist, after casino owner Willy Bank (Al Pacino) double-crosses one of the original eleven, Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould). While some characters appear and operate in the same fashion as they have throughout the series, others like Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon) complete their character development by the end of the story. Thirteen follows the same style and humor of the previous two releases, including numerous on camera and off camera references to the cast. Some of these references include relationships to Al Pacino and actions against other characters in The Godfather, and Brad Pit’s character (Rusty Ryan) who at the end of the movie is joking with Clooney when he responds that Pit should settle down and have a few kids (referencing his current relationship with Angelina Jolie and their recent birth of a child). Overall, the movie revisited the atmosphere of eleven, which many viewers were looking for, and allowed for the cast and characters to show off their intended talents. If your going to go see a movie this weekend, make it Thirteen.

I figured i would share this video, many of you probably have read the articles that are syndicating throughout the world. This is the local television segment in which an individual in a wheelchair somehow ended up being hit by a Semi Truck and the wheelchair became interlocked with the grille of the Semi, putting the individual in the unfortunate situation where he was being pushed for several miles at approximatly 50 miles per hour. The location of the incident is a small town outside of Kalamazoo, MI (where I currently reside) and is about 5 miles from where I live. The truck driver may have escaped any criminal charges (as it most likely was an honest accident), but I still have a feeling there will be a lawsuit over the ordeal against the company which the truck driver worked for.

Jack Bauer

After six seasons of the hit television show 24, Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) has ended the lives of 185 terrorists. Now, to clearify, I did not sit down with a notepad and tally up each kill Jack accumulated through the series, but apparently the guys at BauerCount.com have, and with great detail. The site keeps the statistics by season, and now are even including pictures and video of the event.

If you have not checked out Bauer Count, I recommend it.
